This Harvard alumni states that Facebook was first created in order to make Harvard students connecting with each other. Still, the idea was so great that it was right after adopted by all the universities over the U.S.; then by those of the other countries, to finally get spread in the whole wide world. At this time, more than one hundred million of people have a Facebook account that they use, according to Zuckerberg, to share information and to connect with all the people they know. He affirms that the financial side and the advertising are important only to make the Facebook company growing and developing, and not for personal profit purposes. Personally, I think that even if Facebook present sometimes a danger for our intimacy, it does also help me get in touch continuously with all the people that I actually know and people that I didn’t see for long time ago.

Catastroph in the Frensh Newspaper!

Nowadays, the Frensh newspaper industry is experiencing a trouble because of the censorship imposed by the press. For that, Nicolas Sarkozy is trying to find a remedy in order to make the Frensh newspaper get over this crisis. In addition to the latter concern, the Frensh press has other ones that make the crisis more complex, such as the high price of impression and the subjectivity of the journalist vis-a-vis of politics. Finally, the internet also has its part in the problem because it has replaced the newspapers by diffusing current news and important information everyday. The adequat solutions would be to lower the cost of the impression (therefore the price of the newspapers) and to make it as available as possible in order to balance the tasks between the newspaper and the internet.

Books Vs. E-books

Nowadays, people ask many questions about the future impact of technology on the communication field. Books are one of the mediums that are the most in danger because of the creation of the e-book. However, there are people who strongly believe in the authencity of the book. In this video, Peter Crawshaw prefers to express his point of view about this concern by experiencing both of the alternatives in daily situations. Indeed, he belongs to the group of people who confess that the e-book has lots of advantages, but who does take much more pleasure reading the same text on the yellow pages. Personally, I think that when developing a medium or creating another one, it is done in order to extend and vary ways of transmitting the message rather than replacing other mediums. In other words, book has an important place our Human History that cannot have an end. At least, not now.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kdellero.blogspot.com/2008/09/books-vs-e-books.html' title='Books Vs. Personally, I think that this idea is a good one because people will get access to the historical information first in an easier way and second for no fee involved. Reading old articles and viewing the first advertissments can help people visualize and analyze the concerns and mentalities of the old society. However, I do believe that Google's plan goes further than this. Indeed, the main intention of this company is to have control on the whole information. Given the fact that books and current data are all under the power of the company, past one will be perfect in order to enhance of Google's strenght. In addition to that, by making such archives available, this latter is banalizing the value of the information and enjoying the position of the intermediary between this information and people; therefore, to be the search engine per excellence for the whole world.
